What Chloe Does at Gramma's House

I enter this as Exhibit A as evidence of why Chloe LOVES going to Gramma's house every Tuesday and Thursday while mommy works! It could also explain why my mom and dad look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays too (I think)!

Support the Adoption Tax Credit

Please contact your state representative and your senator and urge them to pass H.R 213 in support of the adoption tax credit. Even if you are not planning to adopt, please support adoptive families and advocate for orphans by contacting your representatives in Congress to voice your support for this bill. For many families, this adoption tax credit makes all the difference in the world.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Our kids celebrated the day with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa is 100% Irish and is celebrating his first St. Patrick's day as an Irish citizen- very exciting. Sawyer also spent the day telling everyone to "Kiss me, I'm Irish." As my dad would say, he'll be a big hit in high school.

After that, we came home and had taco salad for dinner.....you know, typical Irish fare! :) When daddy's not cooking, there's no chance for corned beef and cabbage! Besides, we went to the St. Patrick's day parade last year and they had a mariachi band, so I think we're good!

Wild Olive Tees

If you haven't already checked out Stefanie's latest brainchild, Wild Olive Tees,  you SHOULD. Yep, right now. Head on over there. The t-shirt designs are super cool (that's one of my favorites above), they are offering free shipping till the end of March, and (best of all) 10% of every purchase goes to a Christian-based charity or non-profit organization. First up? Shaohannah's Hope.

So....."get your verse on" and help raise money to bring an orphan home! Spring is coming, and you'll need something to wear!

This is GREAT!

To completely plagiarize my sister's boyfriend:

Brilliant Marketing

Telecom giant, T-Mobile, chose this location in the UK as the backdrop for a new advertisement, filmed during rush hour. It took 8 weeks of planning, 8 sound tracks of 60s thru 90s music, 10,000 people who auditioned, 400 people chosen, 10 hidden cameras, and a terminal full of unsuspecting commuters... some of whom obviously missed their trains!

Darn! I am NEVER in the right place at the right time. Andrea, this made me think of you- I bet you're bummed you missed this too.

This is so fun to watch. I love when everyone starts singing along to Do You Love Me. And, the "unsuspecting commuter's" faces are priceless!

(For the record, this is in no way an endorsement of T M0bile, other than I think they made a cool commercial.)

4 Down, 40 to Go

Four families from our agency's waiting child list accepted referrals this week. So.......40 more to go before we can get on the list. (Or maybe less assuming they open it up before they have NO ONE on it.....when they will start taking new applications for the waiting child program again is a complete mystery...but don't get me started on that.) They don't have a dedicated list yet. So, if they do ever get one, I'm assuming they'll have more than 4 referrals as a result of that list.

I don't know if that is progress or good news or not, but it's something! Movement is good.

Meanwhile, we're getting our application ready to go. When they say, "JUMP" we'll be READY.

As the saying goes......

......March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.

That's code for:  it will snow like the Dickens at the beginning of March just when you seriously think you can't take another inch of the stuff. But, at the end of March (if you survive), you'll see enough signs of spring that you will not need to check yourself into the funny farm. I swear, they made up the saying just to help all us New Englanders get through this month!

Me? I'm just waiting for a little more of this:

(including the green grass and sunshine)

And a whole lot less of this:

And this:
