No, not me.
Last night, my sister Melissa left for Nairobi, Kenya. She and a team of 22 other people from our church are headed to Nairobi, Kenya where they will be serving the people of the Mathare Valley Village 2 for 12 days.
They will be training teachers, serving in the Mission of Hope School, getting to know the people there, and doing anything they can to encourage those serving there already and the people of the Mathare Valley. At the end of the trip, they will also get to go on Safari! :)
I'm proud of her. It takes a lot of courage to leave your daughter and head off to Africa to serve others. I know she will come back changed forever. I'm excited for her. She's wanted to go to Africa for a long, long time, and this isn't the tourist's version of Africa. She will be allowed to see life as it really is for millions of people who live in slums outside the city- and discover how we can best partner with them to bring them hope in their situation.
I can't wait to hear about all that she sees and experiences when she is there!
If you would like to follow along with the team, you can follow their blog here.
And, if you think of it over the next two weeks, would you pray for Melissa and the team?
Thanks!

Hey Jenna! I will totally be praying for your sister and the team! We have teams that go out to Zambia that work in an orphanage called Global Samaritans Orphanage and other teams that go to Benin West Africa to train the Mahi people to teach their own about Jesus! I feel God pulling my heart towards Africa more now than I have ever before. I am praying about Zambia and working in the orphanage!
Can't wait to see how God works in the lives of those in Kenya, as well as the team traveling!
Happy Independence Day!
Love,
Robyn
How amazing of your sister! What an opportunity! I can't wait to hear more. It would be an honor to pray!
Hugs,
Sara
