Back in August, before Cooper came home, I wrote about the significance of the ocean for me in the journey to Cooper, and how I just could not WAIT to take him to the ocean for the first time.
Recently, we had that chance.
My parents were celebrating their 40th anniversary, and they wanted to celebrate out by the ocean. So, on a cool-ish spring day, we took Cooper to the ocean for the first time.
And he LOVED it.
He just couldn't get enough of it.
Even though the water was freezing, and his feet get ice-cold even without the help of frigid ocean water, he HAD to be in the water. For a boy who gets cold beyond easily, he sure didn't seem to mind the water.
The boy was SOAKED.....and he loved every second of it.
Splashing in the ocean with your brother. What is better than that?
How about that PLUS Grandma, Grandpa, your cousin (and your aunt, who took the picture), your brother and your sister?
How about enjoying your first glimpse of the bright ocean with your forever family that prayed for you while waiting for the day they could fly across the ocean to bring you home?
There are precious few days that feel truly sacred.
This was one for us.
